When Southwest Greens manufactures our turfs we use two types of yarn, and both free of heavy metals: polyethylene for our lawn turfs and polypropylene for our putting green turfs.
At Southwest Greens, the polyethylene and polypropylene yarns that we use in our products are made in the USA and none of the yarns carry any heavy metals, including lead, which has shown to cause long term health problems. Be aware that some companies do sell turf that contain heavy metals and it is highly recommended to avoid these turfs. When meeting with your prospective turf business, we suggest that this is the first question you ask, and also demand to see the content label.
When you choose any one of the many turf styles from Southwest Greens of the Valley you can be sure that your children and pets will be safe from any dangerous materials. Your only concern will be how to get them in the house for dinner!

- Polyethylene which is used to make our lawn turfs is a fiber that is intended to stay rigid and erect over a long period of time to keep your lawn looking great for years.
- Polypropylene which is used to make our putting green turf is a fiber that is meant to bend over and stay that way for a flat and smooth putting surface.
